The 4-Way Test

“The Four-Way Test”,as it is officially known, was created by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor in 1932.

It was adopted as the Rotary International’s official code of ethics in 1943. Translated into more than 100 languages, the simplicity of this code is a testament of its power.

The Four-Way test of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?

  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
