A day out at the World Performing Arts Festival
World Performing Arts Festival has been a keenly awaited event for my family, particularly the kids. This is the only activity where we have even taken exception and attended the shows during the exams at our kids’ school. Today, it suddenly hit me that there are so many children who don’t even have a clue what fun it is. That’s when the Rotarian in me woke up!
Rotary Club of Lahore Liberty is organising a day out at the World Performing Arts Festival for the children of a local orphange. The festival has been a huge success over the years and this year it is the 25th festival. It brings performers from a wide vareity of countries and goes on to show that despite the negative media projection due to terrorist threats, Pakistan is still a vibrant, fun loving place.
This Rotary project will provide a rare opportunity for the under priviledged children to enjoy and gather beautiful memories to cherish for a long time, while the Rotarians will be able to bring smiles on these children’s faces.
The project is being orgnised by Rtn. Saheefa Jaleel, Rtn. Hina Elahi and Rtn. Ammar Arif Ali under the guidance of club’s President Rtn. Raza Jaffri.
